Unfortunately as I was leveling the rosewood fretboard dots with a chisel, one of them snapped :(
I was able to cleanly glue the piece back in though :)

Although its cleaner to use a chisel, I decide not to tempt fate so I use a flush cut saw for the remaining dots. The scratches won't matter because I haven't put the radius on the fretboard yet. I decide to give the glue a little extra time to dry, so I'll move on to the body for now.

I remove the bulk of the neck pocket with the drill press.

Here's the body carefully clamped in the neck pocket routing jig. Its not easy to see, but I used an off cut from the end of the neck as a stop block for the bottom of the neck pocket.

Here's the finished neck pocket.

After rounding the corners of the neck tenon, a quick test fit looks good.

The neck heel area looks good too.

The next step is to radius the fretboard and then glue it in place.

Here's the fretboard after a few passes through the radiusing jig. I'm using the 9-1/2" radius sled on this one. I was trying to leave it a little thicker to show off the flames, but in the end I went with the normal thickness which buzzed off the ends of my fret slots. I'll deepen them a little by hand.

The rosewood dots look great, although you can't see the beautiful colours very well in this picture.

Before I glue the fretboard in place I need to thin the headstock to its final thickness.
